American Horror Story Casting: Gaga in, Lange out!

Unless you’ve been living under a rock lately, chances are you would’ve heard about the recent casting of Lady Gaga in the hit TV show American Horror Story.

If you are a fan of the show then you would have already heard about the departure of lead actress Jessica Lange. Each season, Lange has played some of the shows most complex and interesting characters, and she has portrayed them wonderfully, earning two Emmys for the show. Therefore it comes as no surprise that many fans are upset with the announcement of her departure.

There had been speculation the most recent season would be her last as her contract was coming to an end. Fans were hoping she would decide to stay on for at least one more season, but unfortunately she hasn’t. As a result, many fans were contemplating leaving the show with her.

However, the announcement of Lady Gaga joining the cast has sparked new interest into the series that has made its name off creating shocking storylines and pushing the limits of what we see on TV. To me, this is exactly what the show needed in order to keep its viewers excited.

It’s out with the old and in with the new for American Horror Story: Coven

They may have lost arguably their most popular cast member, but they gained a globally renowned performer who is known for her flamboyance and sometimes controversial contributions to the music industry.

While her acting experience may be limited, one would think that Gaga will fit in perfectly at American Horror Story. The singer made her name as someone who wasn’t afraid to push the boundaries and shock people, just like the show does every week!

Only time will tell whether the introduction of Lady Gaga is the direction that AHS needs following the departure of someone of Jessica Lange’s caliber. That being said, there is no denying that the new season, entitled ‘American Horror Story: Hotel’, will be one to watch.
