Gamer Tea Party
It’s a sad fact that most people in Australia will be affected by cancer during some stage of their life. This could be; either personally, or through family and friends. This year alone, more than 108,300 new cases of cancer will be diagnosed in Australia.
The VGA (Video Gaming Association) will be partnering up with the BroSoc (Bro Society) and FGC (Fighting Gaming Community) for various events to help fundraise for Cancer. The main event will be held on the 3rd of June between 9am – 3pm. The event will be held at the University of Wollongong in Building 11.
The Bake Sale will be set up on the top level in the St George Area. There will be either a Wii U or Wii connected up to the Big Screen and feature some Nintendo games such as Super Smash Bros and Mario Kart.
The Bake Sale will have an assortment of Cakes, Cupcakes, Muffins, and Cookies for $2 each. Tea and coffee will also be served on the day for $1 each.
We ask that you remember that all the money raised will go towards the Cancer Foundation and that it is a day to be aware of cancer and its effects on society.
The aim of the event along with the sub events that will be run this week and next will be to create awareness and early detection of cancer.
Come down to raise awareness and early detection by either buying a delicious cake or just donating a little towards the Cancer Foundation! We believe that every cent counts.
