Trend to Try—White jeans.
If you’re anything like me, the mere thought of wearing white jeans fills you with dread. In fact, wearing any colour other than black is enough to make me tremble. White is not the most forgiving colour and is quite a daring shade for jeans, so many people are reluctant to try it out. But worry not, sweet children, here are a few hot tips for pulling off the palest of denim.
Dress up and refine your white denim with dark shades in streamlined cuts.
This stops the ensemble from looking too busy but still lets your white jeans make a statement. Tip: colours like khaki, camel and navy pair with white perfectly for autumn and winter.
Black is the safest colour, so what better colour to pair daring white jeans with? There’s no wrong way to mix the two, but a white outfit with black accessories is an easy way of looking put together. Tip: if you don’t feel like going strictly black and white, you could always mix some shades of grey in there to mix it up a little!
An easy way to make the white less jarring is to soften it with knitwear. The cozy texture and soft shapes will make it less of a statement, more “I woke up like this”.
Tip: pale shades like grey, blue, peach, pink or even softer shades of khaki work best for dressing down white jeans.
- Baggy tops
Make skinny white jeans super casual by rocking a loose-fitting top. Whether you’re going for a baggy T-shirt or tucking in a tank, a loose-fitting top is the best way to offset the trendy look of white jeans. Plus, it’s super comfy—bonus!
Tip: if you’re worried about how flattering/unflattering the white is, you can always wear a longer top to cover up areas you’re self-conscious about. But don’t worry, I’m sure you look great in anything!
